Mayan Culture

Mayan culture constitutes a world based on the vast knowledge that the ancient Mayan civilisation had on mathematics, geometry and astronomical calculations determined by observation of the day and nightime sky.

There are many sites where the ancient Mayan people built monumental cities and where the chief priests worshipped their gods in order to exercise power over the common people. These sites are located over 500,000 square kilometes. They are listed below as well as shown on the map.

The Seven Prophecies of Mayan Culture

The Seven Prophecies are based on the Mayan culture’s interpretation of scientific, religious and spiritual knowledge. These prophecies are largely myths and predictions that may never happen. We invite you to read, judge and analyse these prophecies and make up your own mind.

First Prophecy

On 22 December 2012, a Sun ray coming from the center of the Galaxy will reach our Sun starting a new cycle. It would be a time of realization and change for humanity. These changes would be brought about by man’s lack of respect for the planet and for each other. These changes would occur so that humanity could understand how the universe works. Man could enter a new age, leaving behind self destruction and materialism and could pass to a world of respect and harmony. Before this day, humanity will have to decide whether they will continue on a negative path and disappear as the dominant race, or join together and advance to a higher level of being.

Second Prophecy

It announced that with the Eclipse on 11 August 1999, due to some physical transformations in the Sun (Kinich-Ahau in Mayan language), human behavior would begin to change. Men would either lose control of their emotions and opt for fear and destruction, while others would acknowledge inner peace, choose acceptance and tolerance, and be in harmony with the rhythms of the Galaxy. Each individual would choose their own path and this choice would determine the future.

Third Prophecy

The temperature will increase on the Earth generating social, geological and climatic imbalances. The disharmony between human beings and Nature would bring serious problems such as the evaporation of water from soil, forest fires and the destruction of crops. The outcome will be depend on the attitude taken.

Fourth Prophecy

In this prediction one heat wave would cause the polar ice to melt. According to the Mayan thoughts and beliefs, it would make the Planet cleaner and greener, however thousands of people living by the sea would suffer the consequences of serious damages.

Fifth Prophecy

If our behavior doesn’t adapt to the rhythms of Nature and the Galaxy before 2012, a huge collapse in social, economic and religious order will take place. Human beings would have to reorganize society to be more harmonious and less competitive.

Sixth Prophecy

A comet would appear producing very drastic physical transformations in planet Earth. From their calculations, the Mayan people believed there was a high chance that the comet would collide with the Earth and threaten the existence human life. But at the same time they also argued that it is possible to divert its path by physical or psychological means.

Seventh Prophecy

This prediction is a message of hope for the world. By joining together, humanity would be able attain harmony and inner peace, developing new senses and integrating with the Galaxy. In this way it would be possible to reduce the harmful effects of the prophecies announced previously.

For Mayan people, cosmic processes were cyclical and never changed. What changes is the consciousness of man that passes through them, always in the process of perfection. The current cycle would end on Saturday December 22, 2012, for then mankind must choose between disappearing  as a thinking species that threatens to destroy the planet or moving towards the harmonious integration with the entire Universe in a new Age of Light.

The Mayans claimed that their civilization was the fifth illuminated by the Sun (Kinich Ahau), the great Fifth Solar Cycle. Previously on earth there existed four other civilizations that were destroyed by great natural disasters. They believed that each civilization was just a step in the rise of the collective consciousness of humanity.
