Whether you are visiting cancun for a night, or staying for many nights, we are here to ensure you experience Cancun to its fullest.

The City

The City opened its doors for the first time on January 30, 2004, debuting as an important center of entertainment in Cancun. It features fresh and innovative architecture and is capable of hosting more than 5,000 guests at one time. The City consists of five main concepts: a nightclub, a beach club, a lounge, Porterhouse Grill steak house, and a terrace bar. The layout of this Cancun landmark consists of a tri-level, indoor/outdoor state-of-the-art mega dome with nine bars: an open-bar dance level, VIP party level, a VIP private level, and a beach club complete with massive pool, waterslide and wave machine. The nightclub includes a 30-watt laser, a staff of over 200 and a multi-million dollar lighting system. Everything inside the nightclub has been built with personal guest service and non-stop entertainment in mind. The City is equipped with extensive safety features, including 12 emergency exits, 32 security cameras, a security staff of over 40 people and an in-house doctor available every hour of operation.

Coco Bongo

Voted the #1 nightclub in North America by Playboy and MTV, this Cancun club is sure to please everyone. Each night various performers take the stage to please the crowd while acrobats dangle 50 feet above the dance floor performing incredible feats of skill and athleticism. Coco Bongo brings to Cancun the flavours of Cirque du Soleil, Las Vegas, and New Years Eve all rolled into one every single night.  A definite crowd pleaser every time, Coco Bongo is the hotspot of Cancun hotspots.

Bull Dog Cafe

Each and every Saturday night in Cancun, Breakaway Tours takes over the one and only Bulldog Café.  With capacity for over 2,000 people and a large stage for performers, Spring Break revelers with Breakaway Tours in 2008 will go to see such live acts as Mims, Richboy, Young Jeezy, Clinton Sparks and Lil Jon. Bulldog also features 5 bars, a state-of-the-art sound and light show, and a “girls only” VIP Jacuzzi right on the dance floor.

Basic

Basic is one of the hottest nightclubs in Cancun. Contrary to its name, this club is anything but basic – giving the appearance of a floating island with white canvas “walls” which open on its upper side. The result is the creation of the only place in Cancun where you can dance and go wild under the stars and over the lagoon, to the pulsing sounds of a DJ spinning some of the best rock, R&B and pop songs in Cancun. Basic even has its own simulated rain system, which is how and why our Cancun Wet Party here is so aptly named!

Senor Frogs

A restaurant by day and party atmosphere at night, Senor Frog’s Restaurant and Bar in Cancun is one of the most popular spots in all of Cancun. When the sun sets, put on your dancing shoes and get ready to spend the evening with 1,500 of your closest friends. And don’t worry if you haven’t met everyone – you will before the night’s over. With daily live music, DJs, contests and karaoke, this bar is always hopping until the early morning hours. And if that’s not enough, there’s even a water slide from Senor Frog’s out to the lagoon. So bring your bathing suit.

Playa Cabana

Playa Cabana in Cancun features 27 cabanas, each with capacity for 6 and offering exotic, minimalist Caribbean design. Every cabana comes equipped with a complete sound system with individual audio controls. The cabanas also feature refreshing misters to stay cool while you get that perfect suntan. Playa Cabana in Cancun offers two multi-level pools, with space to work on your tan next to a beautiful cascading waterfall. A full bar includes exotic cocktails. Guests can also enjoy fresh and delicious appetizers like sushi, salads, and more. There is even a palapa clubhouse surrounded by the beautiful Caribbean Sea and over 75 swaying palms.

If you have recent photos of the beach that you are willing to let us post on this site:

  • Please e-mail us at mailto:info@bookhotel.com.mx with the following info:
    • The name of the hotel/resort where the beach photos were taken and, if possible, try to give us as much info as possible about where you were standing (directly in front of the resort, etc) and which direction you were facing when taking the pictures.
    • Please let us know if there were any recent conditions that may have affected the beach shots on that given day (for example, high winds or recent stormy weather that may have the ocean temporarily rougher than usual, etc)
    • The date, or approximate date, the photos were taken and time or approximate time of day.
    • If you would like credit for the photos, let us know how you would like your name to appear (full name, initials, first initial-last name, TA screen name, etc.) and whether you would like to list your home location next to your name.
    • Attach the photos to the e-mail, or if they are already posted somewhere on the web, give us the web address where we can copy them from the web.
  • Guidelines for submitting photos:
    • The photos should be fair and representative shots of the beach. That is, we will only post photos with sweeping views that best give an overall view of the beach rather than close up shots of any particular area.
    • Photos need to be at least 480 (wide) x 360 (high) pixels in size.  Larger photos are fine as we can resize them after we receive them.
    • Photos must be horizontal shots of the beach rather than vertical (to fit into the slideshow we use).  If you have a large vertical shot that is at least 480 pixels wide, we may be able to crop the photo and make it a horizontal shot. If you’re uncertain, send the vertical photo and we will use it if we can.
    • Photos must be more recent than our own photos for any given hotel.
    • We reserve the right to decide which photos will be posted.
  • If you have questions about any of the beaches or hotels in Cancun, Mexico:
  • For general questions about beaches or hotels in Cancun, Mexico we will answer any questions you may have on the popular Cancun Hotels web site – a great resource for planning your Cancun vacation.

Espn To Launch Cancun Governor’s Cup Holiday Tournament 2010-11

ESPN Regional Television, Inc., a subsidiary of ESPN, in conjunction with Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau and the state of Quintana Roo, announced today the creation of the Cancun Governor’s Cup, an eight-team men’s college basketball tournament to be played at the new Poliforum Benito Juarez in Cancun, Mexico. The Cancun Governor’s Cup will place an emphasis on supporting youth basketball initiatives within Mexico.
In advance of the inaugural Cancun Governor’s Cup, which will occur in December 2010, during next year’s college basketball season, Cancun will host a single-game event in January with Virginia Tech facing off against Seton Hall. Tickets for the special tipoff game on Saturday, Jan. 2, are on sale now.
The eight-team field for the December 2010 tournament, as well as the exact dates and television schedule, will be announced in the spring. Conference USA will serve as the event’s sponsoring conference.
“We are excited to host this event and showcase basketball in one of the world’s premier destinations,” said Clint Overby, senior director of events, ESPN Regional Television. “We want to be able to create an atmosphere in which we can highlight the area to players, coaches and fans as well as offer an opportunity to promote basketball to the youth of Mexico.”
“It is a privilege to work with ESPN Regional Television and we are honored to be hosting the Governor’s Cup in Cancun,” said Jesús Almaguer, CEO of the Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We welcome the opportunity to showcase our majestic destination in conjunction with such an important event.”
The new tournament in 2010-11 will feature 12 games through three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. The two teams that remain undefeated will face off in a championship match.
The Cancun Governor’s Cup will support youth basketball initiatives in Mexico started by the Telmex Foundation and Mexican NBA star Eduardo Najera. The Telmex Najera Youth Basketball League is working to bring the game of basketball to the youth of Mexico. Since 2007, when the league was created, 60,000 kids from across Mexico have participated. The Cancun Governor’s Cup will annually offer tickets to the league for kids to experience collegiate basketball firsthand.
Cancun is a world-class vacation destination located on the coast of Mexico’s easternmost state, Quintana Roo. The area is known for its outstanding beaches, outdoor activities, dining and archaeological sites. December temperatures range from 68 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
The single game this season, as well as next season’s inaugural tournament, will be played at the Poliforum Benito Juarez, located on Boulevard Luis Donaldo S/N a few minutes from the Cancun International Airport. The arena was opened this year and is home to the Pioneros Quintana Roo, the basketball team of the state of Quintana Roo.
